What changes come with the GDPR?
The fundamental changes of the GDPR include:
- compulsory appointment of Data Protection Officer (DPO) for all municipalities,
- compulsory appointment of Data Protection Officer (DPO) for all schools and kindergartens,
- obligation to register all information systems (IS) again,
- new forms and security documents according to DSGVO,
- EU-wide harmonization of data protection measures,
- obligation to report and document security incidents,
- new arrangements for the consent of minors,
- new rules on the cross-border transfer of personal data,
- strengthening the rights of data subjects,
- fines of up to EUR 20 million, or up to 4% of the total worldwide annual turnover of the previous financial year, whichever is higher
