New allegations of non-compliance with GDPR are tied to Chinese telecommunications company Huawei. Doubtful practices are discussed by two former company managers in the Czech Republic. It was the collection of sensitive data on the people with whom they had negotiations.

Which data did they collect?

According to former employees, they collected information about personal data such as: clients' financial situation, family background, their interests, etc. These data should haave been filled and stored in the company system.

The overall process was handled by the company's technology headquarters in China, but they served both markets, including the Chinese embassy.

The target group of the process of obtaining sensitive data was found to be mainly civil servants, whom Huawei invited to a conference or trip to China.

Responses of the parties concerned

Huawei's statement denies this allegation. According to their report, employees do not violate GDPR and act in accordance with the rules. They also stated that the company has its own internal regulations regarding the protection of personal data.
